Wet Processing of Man-Made Textile
Course Description
Fibers, Yarns & threads, Woven and knit textiles goods cannot be processed into apparel and other finished textile products until they have passed through several water-intensive wet processing stages. Wet processing enhances the appearance, durability, and serviceability of textiles by converting undyed and unfinished goods, known as gray or greige goods, into finished consumer goods. Wet processing has very high potential of value addition in entire textile & apparel chain. However this sector is the weakest link in otherwise fast growing Indian textile industry.

Students are introduced to the science and technology used in textile wet processing. Subjects include preparation, dyeing, printing and finishing of textiles, applied chemistry and textile fibers. Exposure to mechanical processing & basics of color measurement is given. Wet processing of woven fabrics of cotton, wool, viscose, nylon, polyester and popular blends is stressed. Training imparts knowledge for latest in process economy and eco friendly processes.

After successful completion of the course students can obtain career in production sectors, Testing & Q.C. & technical marketing of chemicals & processes & machines etc.
 
Duration : 6 Months
