Centre of Excellence
(COE)
SASMIRA
has been designated as a Centre of Excellence for
Agrotextiles. The centre will be set – up
in alliance with MANTRA, Surat, Navsari Agriculture
University, Navsari as associate partners and IIT,
Delhi as knowledge partner. The vision and Mission
of the COE, Agrotextile can be stated as:
VISION
“To
become a world class leading service driven and research
based international technical textile association
to serve the industry in general and agriculture
sector in particular”
MISSION
- creating awareness regarding agrotextiles products
amongst agriculturist
- to increase productivity by protection of crops
- to
assist in early harvesting by use of agrotextile
products
- providing Soil covering systems and controlling
irrigation using agrotextiles
- to create state-of-art testing certification facilities
for agrotextile products
- to assist the industry for entrepreneurship in
the field of agrotextiles

This centre will achieve its vision and mission through
the facilities and infrastructure, viz., Demonstration
pilot plant facility for Agrotextiles
